Amber Clarke is an artist based in San Francisco, CA. Amber has always had a deep love and obsession-like adoration of beautiful jewelry. JFD all started when one day, close to her birthday, she asked her good friend if he would buy her a beautiful pair of handmade seed bead earrings for her birthday. “Those are too expensive!” he responded. At that moment, Amber took it upon herself to make the e
arrings she wanted so badly herself. It came more naturally to her then most. Amber has always been extremely creative. Her biological mother and sister are both artists and it was clear from childhood that she possessed the skills to become a successful artist as well however, life took her in another direction. After college Amber enrolled in law school but quickly realized that it was not for her. “Everyone in my family has advanced degrees and I thought that I was making my parents happy by going to law school.” This could not be further from the truth. Ironically, they were surprised when she did not go to an art school for college and even more surprised when she went to law school. After law school Amber returned to her passion taking classes in design at UCLA and SMCC. “I believe that it is rare that a person ends up in the profession that he/she decided on when they were kids, I think it takes many tries at many things to realize where your talents and passions lay - It took me a while to realize that I wasn’t going to let fear of the unknown dictate my path in life.” Today, Amber is continually learning about and perfecting her craft and could not be happier with her decision to pursue a career in the arts.
