💕 This International Day of the Girl, we are highlighting our new menstrual health education initiative we’ve launched in our artisan community in India.
At Love Is Project, we believe supporting our artisan communities means investing in more than livelihoods. It means supporting the health, education, dignity, and well-being of the women and families behind our handmade products.
We’re excited to announce our new partnership with Happy Periods, a NGO working to advance menstrual equity in India through menstrual health education and sustainable period products.
Together, we’ve launched a menstrual health education program in the community where we work with artisans in Uttar Pradesh.
Our first workshop brought together approximately 40 girls and young women, including artisans, students, and factory workers. What began with shyness and hesitation quickly turned into open conversation, questions, myth-busting, and peer support.
The program will continue with two additional workshops focused on understanding menstruation, period care and hygiene, nutrition, yoga, sustainable products, and more.
Because education is empowerment.
Because every girl deserves to understand her own body.
And because LOVE means showing up for the whole community.
