How it started vs. how it’s going.

From early sketches, prototypes, and production days to seeing the collection come to life. It has been such a fun journey bringing the Lulu Powers line to life and watching these pieces go from idea to reality. Grateful for everyone who helped make it happen.

Not every DIY is a masterpiece… and this one definitely was not. The original idea was a total fail, so I pivoted. And honestly, that’s the real creative process. We try, we mess up, we adjust, we make it work.

Social media doesn’t always show the mistakes, but they happen all the time. Reality is, not everything goes as planned and that is completely normal. Sometimes the pivot is better than the plan anyway.

The Cooking Club is a wonderful group of women that has been going strong for over 15 years. Each month, we choose a book, and with 11 members, everyone selects a recipe they’re excited to make. Our recipe discussions are usually led by Sally Horchow, who founded the Cooking Club and continues to be its guiding force. This month we did Alison Roman’s new book- something from nothing.

What truly makes this group special is how we show up for one another. We’ve been through so much together—cancer, loss, marriages, engagements, job changes, and career pivots. Through it all, one thing has remained constant (besides a great recipe): these women are there for each other, through thick and thin.

I am incredibly proud to be part of this remarkable, supportive, and inspiring group.

Still riding the holiday fun from my segment, and this time we’re spotlighting the Christmas cocktail. 🎄🍏 The Granny Smith Sneeky is fresh, flirty, and a little bit sneeky, with just the right amount of holiday sparkle.

Crisp green apple, bright citrus, and a festive rim make this one perfect for Christmas parties, cozy nights in, or whenever you want something playful and chic. Full recipe below so you can shake it up at home.

GRANNY SMITH SNEEKY
Serves 2 | Prep time: 5 minutes

For the cocktail:
½ Granny Smith apple, shaved or thinly sliced
Juice of 1 lemon
4 oz Ketel One Citron vodka
2 oz sour apple liqueur (apple pucker)
Ice

For the holiday rim:
1 tbsp coarse sparkling sugar (white or gold)
1 tsp finely crushed dried cranberries
Optional pinch of edible glitter
Lemon juice, for ri***ng

How to make it:
Prep the rim by mixing sugar, crushed cranberries, and glitter if using. Rim glasses with lemon juice and dip into mixture.

Shake shaved apple, lemon juice, vodka, and apple liqueur with ice until icy cold.
Strain into prepared glasses filled with ice and garnish with thinly sliced apple.
