As wrote of this beautiful visit: “Empowered women empower women.” The incomparable, eloquent, uber talented activist, actor, leader and friend joined the homeboy community for Pookie + Ivy’s Women’s Empowerment Class and inspired us all to keep trekking together on any healing journey we have, individually and collectively.

We spoke in powerful truth, listened in powerful compassion, and connected with kindness, humor and strength.

The journey to Homeboys, the healing we’ve witnessed and experienced at Homeboys and with friends have been instrumental in our personal growth and in our preparation for similar work in Tunisia.

We were honored to be part of the campaign to and for 4 wonderful years. These are good people who do glorious work for the sick, the weak, for the common good, the higher good.
