Tailoring Tales part 2: Menswear edition.
And this is the 2nd suit with a striking navy blue tropical wool and gold appliqué contrast (my original design).
First we created the gold fabric by needlefelting several layers of organza & china silk together to achieve a velvety new fabric.
Then designed the Art Deco-inspired architectural pattern, before appliquéing and embroidering the design onto the suit.
It wasn’t until later we realized that the pattern looks like an upside down royal crown. Well, the client is royalty. 🤴🏽
A Labor of love, but worth the time.
