I’ve been sitting here today thinking about how much Embellish My Heart has grown over the past year, and it got me thinking about my mama. ❤️
Some of you may not know this, but my mom had her own little business too, Something Special Ceramics, and she was SO talented!
Just like me, she worked full-time and ran her business on the side. I remember so many nights she’d come home, fix dinner, and stay up until the wee hours of the morning painting orders.
Growing up, I spent a lot of Saturdays painting ceramics with her at the Cookie Jar and occasionally helping her at craft shows. She even helped me with my very first Embellish My Heart craft show. We did it together! ❤️
Looking back, I definitely got my creativity, determination, work ethic, and stubbornness from her! 😂 And apparently the crying too! We always teased her that she’d cry if the wind blew the wrong way. Well, here I am so that apple didn’t fall far from the tree! 😂
When we lost her last year, I honestly thought about closing Embellish My Heart. But I knew she wouldn’t want me to quit.
She was always my biggest cheerleader. The first to like, comment, and share my posts, and every time I’d make something new, she’d say, “I need one!” 😂 I sure do miss seeing her name pop up in my comments. ❤️
My dad recently gave me this pumpkin she painted in 1983. She always signed and dated her pieces, and I’m so thankful she did. Something so simple, yet so many memories.
I miss her every single day, but I’m so thankful I got my love for creating things from her.
I sure hope I’m making you proud, G (aka LUUUUCYYYY! 😆). ❤️
