Shiny Objects by Michele

Shiny Objects by Michele Handmade jewelry using rare stones, fossils & shells. My passion is creating jewelry that elevates nature’s creations into wearable art.

www.shinyobjectsmichele.com Creatively, my jewelry is inspired by the stone, shell, fossil or other natural object and the metal itself. I am endlessly intrigued by objects found in nature - a shell on the beach or a rock on a path is an amazing treasure to me. I've been collecting rocks and shells all my life - handfuls in my pockets and scattered throughout the house. Now it all makes sense - my

collecting had a purpose all along! The collecting has turned into a fascination with transforming those objects into jewelry. I learned basic bead stringing and wire work from local jewelers while living in Turkey & Greece. Over the years I've taken many classes to further my knowledge - metalsmithing, wirework, enameling and recently lapidary. I am inspired by the beach and spend many days combing Rehoboth Beach, DE for things that want another life as wearable art. You will notice recurring themes in my work - shells, stars, fossils, labradorite, pyrite & druzy - I am obsessed! I have an inner voice that drives me to find creative ways to elevate these simple stones, shells and fossils into jewelry - enabling the wearer to enjoy the object and at the same time, express their own unique personal style. The wearer becomes the frame for the jewelry and the jewelry also frames the wearer! Custom orders encouraged.

Juicy Tourmaline Slices! Yum. 😋 🍉

The watermelon slice ring is spoken for (a Shiny Person who snagged the watermelon tourmaline necklace at the Rehoboth Art Fest, ordered this ring to match). But the teal slice is up for grabs at the Bethany Seaside Craft Show this Saturday! Stop by and visit me and my Shinies on Garfield Street in Booth 209 (one day only Sat 10am-5pm).

Finishing some goodies for the Rehoboth Arts Fest this Saturday. These two have 18k gold bezel settings because they deserve it. Lightning Ridge Opal and Azurite with Malachite. They are scrumptious!

I got the azurite malachite from years ago. The malachite has some chatoyance that reflects light. Better in person. Come check it out on Saturday in Grove Park!

Terrible lighting, great earrings! I don’t often make hook earrings - probably because I only wear posts. But these stones were telling me they wanted hooks, so here we are. They were fun to make and if I get positive feedback from you Shiny People at the Rehoboth Art Fest next Saturday, I’ll make more!
