Yard Studies - Entry 6 🌿
Featuring three more beautiful spring arrivals from around the yard: red tulip, crabapple blossom, and forget-me-not!
🌷 Red Tulip [Tulipa gesneriana]
A classic symbol of deep love, passion, and devotion. Tulips originated in Central Asia and became especially celebrated during the Dutch "Tulip Mania" of the 1600s. Their simple, elegant form has made them one of the world's most beloved spring flowers.
🌸 Crabapple Blossom [Malus]
These delicate blooms arrive for only a brief window each spring, making them a beautiful reminder of impermanence and appreciating the present moment. Crabapple blossoms are often associated with renewal, beauty, abundance, and new beginnings. They also provide an important early-season food source for pollinators.
💙 Forget-Me-Not [Myosotis sylvatica]
Perhaps one of the most meaningful flowers by name alone, forget-me-nots have long symbolized remembrance, enduring connection, loyalty, and lasting affection. Their tiny blue flowers may be small, but they often create stunning carpets of color when allowed to spread naturally.
Thanks for checking out a few more observations from my sketchbook! I still have LOTS to catch up on as I'm very fortunate to have such a vibrant yard rich in sooo many beautiful herbs, flowers, and weeds, but I'll get around to everything slowly but surely 🙂
