On a visit to Tepoztlán I noticed a pattern tucked under the restaurant tables. The intersecting structures of colorful wooden chairs became the starting point for Geometría Oculta I.

I simplified that view into a geometric composition: crisscrossing teal lines, bold red chevrons, and small yellow diamonds. The symmetry gives the image a steady rhythm while the colors bring sudden warmth and movement.

I began with the texture of tree bark and let the image lead the process. It evolved into a diamond-like form suspended against black, with textured shapes that stretch and seem pulled toward the center. Up close you can pick out narrow ridges, knot-like swirls, and granular marks; from a distance those details come together into a quiet, centered void framed by dusty rose, steely gray, and cool blue, creating movement, tension, and depth. I started Contornos en el Bosque after spending time in Tlalpan National Park, working with fragments of different woods. Repetition and transformation turn those fragments into a landscape of flowing contours, where organic lines suggest bodies and profiles that appear and dissolve as you look. The piece feels calm and grounded, a quiet rhythm of irregular marks and steady pattern that invites slow looking. You can see more and preview it here: https://www.gabriellarv.art/warehouse-open-edition-prints/art_print_products/contornos-en-el-bosque.

While in La Paz, Mexico I noticed light falling across a fragment of tree bark. Mirroring and symmetry turned that quick observation into a quiet geometry of light, with repeating ribs and bands that feel both solid and a little fragile. Muted grays and warm taupes shift subtly so the eye moves along a central axis and then outward across textured planes. I titled it Serenidad en la Paz to hold that still, meditative moment. Available as prints on paper, canvas, acrylic and wood, and on mugs, tote bags, phone cases, and greeting cards. I started beneath a towering sequoia in Jilotepec, looking up through trunk, branches, and sky. From that upward view I developed Corazón de Sequoia II into a luminous, symmetrical composition where fluorescent color, organic texture, and repetition give the image a stained-glass, temple-like quality. Mirrored forms lead the eye to a glowing center framed by deep purples and veins of gold and teal, offering a calm core with a more brooding perimeter.
