This is the reason I love doing woodworking and creating things for people to use and pass down for generations in a single use economy. I have had several amazing reviews on etsy but for my first amazon review to be so elliquently phrased and represent the passion I put into every board feels great. Making money is always great, especially with the film industry taking such a hit, but for my labor to be appreciated and loved has another level. I am excited for the film industry to hopefully revive but I look forward to spending the rest of my lifetime creating pieces for generations to enjoy.

Got to drop off these two amazing boards today for a custom order. Dennis was looking to give an extra flair to his outdoor grilling station so I made these ash, walnut and jatoba dough boards. Dough boards are a great addition to any kitchen, inside or out. Bitterweet moment as we have made our first sale on etsy at SpurlingWoodworks. Our most expensive product but also one of our favorites. What we love about wood is the story each piece tells. Much like people, wood holds a story that shapes its identity. Good time, bad times, good years and bad. The grain of a board tells so much about history and life. A single section of wood is just as unique as us and through this eachboard we make tells the story of the wood we make it from.

So excited for this custom order going in the mail today. Some new add ons for me(juice groove and cutouts for nuts and ramekins.) Have 3 more large boards in the pipeline later this week including 2 massive boards for an outdoor grilling station.
