Our 15-month-old Golden Retriever puppy sneaked out the front door last week unbeknownst to anyone in the house. I was working on my laptop when I got a text message alert that someone had scanned her tag. My phone rang before I could get out the front door. The person on the other end said they had our Lydia in their yard.
I totally freaked out that she had gotten out of our house, but because of the dog tag on her collar, I was immediately notified that someone had found her. The tag, ByteTag, has a QR code that, when scanned, brings the finder to a website with all her vital information regarding everything from our phone numbers to her disposition. I am so thankful for this tag and feel it is a valuable service; I just have to share the information.
EVERY dog (and cat if they have a collar) should have this tag on their collar. Microchipping is also necessary if your pet is without a collar. But because most people do not have the special scanner required to scan for a microchip, it is not a quick, useful tool to find the pet owner without one. The ByteTag is scanned using any cell phone and produces all the information about your furbaby without a special scanner or app.
I wholeheartedly endorse this product. The tags are on sale for only $10 (today is the last day of this price), and if you use the code RETURN2ME, you will receive an additional discount. I am disclosing I get a referral fee for anyone using this code, but this is such a great tool; I would be singing its praises anyway. Check it out at: https://shop.bytetag.co/
