Behind each piece of my jewelry is a story. It may be a story of the past, a story of a love or a story of the spirit of living an authentic life.

For more than 20 years, I’ve been creating jewelry, and it has become so much more than a craft to me. It is a passion. It is a gift that has sustained me through the ebbs and flows of this world.

I’m drawn to the history of things, the beauty of the natural world, and the stories that old pieces can tell. Sometimes it is a stone, a vintage finding, an experience, or through a conversation with someone that develops into a new creation.

I love the process of taking individual elements and giving them a new life, creating something meaningful and unique for someone to wear.

This is where so much of that happens — at my bench, working with my hands, figuring things out, and bringing an idea to life.

I’m looking forward to sharing more of my work, my process, and the stories behind each piece with you.

Sometimes, even the best-laid plans have to change. The Dauphin Island show has been canceled due to Hurricane Isaias and rescheduled, so I’ll have to wait a little longer to share my jewelry with you in person.

I’ve been looking forward to bringing my pieces to the island, and I’m grateful to everyone who has been following along. Mark your calendar for November 21. This is always an amazing community-wide event! You don't want to miss it.

In the meantime, I’ll be making more creations and sharing some of the pieces, the stories behind them, and the inspiration that makes each one special.

A little preview of what I’ll be bringing to Dauphin Island…

I love giving beautiful old pieces a new life, and these vintage gold-tone earrings are a perfect example.

They feature antique crystals that catch the light beautifully—and I love the way they look when they’re actually being worn.

It's been a while since we have done a show but, next Saturday Bill and I will be participating together in the Dauphin Island Park & Beach Trail Art Show on October 10th, from 9:00–4:00.

We will be bringing Whetstone Art & Jewelry to the beautiful Cadillac Park on Dauphin Island with some one-of-a-kind pieces that reflect the things that have always inspired us both—nature, history, the past, and the stories that make each of us who we are.

Bill has a fine arts background and creates beautiful sculptures and oil paintings. His work is very different from my jewelry, but I love that we both have this passion to create and to share.

We are honored to be included among the juried artists, and you’ll find us at Spot #15.

It has been a while since we've had the opportunity to get out and share our work this way, so this one feels especially meaningful to us both. And getting to do it alongside each other makes it even more special.

There’s a story in every piece.

Sometimes it’s a story about where we’ve been.

Sometimes it’s about someone we love.

Sometimes it’s about who we have become—and who we are still becoming.

That’s what has always drawn me to creating jewelry.

I don’t want to make something that simply looks beautiful.

I want to create something that means something to the woman who wears it.

A piece that feels like her.

A piece that carries a memory, a passion, a belief, a little bit of her history—or simply reminds her of the strength and wisdom she has gathered along the way.

And sometimes, the most meaningful pieces begin with a conversation.

You tell me your story and we can dream together. And somewhere along the way, that story begins to take shape in metal and stone.

For a while, I’ve been quiet here.

Life has taken me through a season of change, reflection, and finding my way again. But through it all, one thing has continued to call me back — creating jewelry and telling stories through the pieces I make.

There’s something special about taking an idea, a memory, a vintage piece, a beautiful stone or something meaningful from your own life and turning it into something you can actually wear.

So I’m beginning again. Different metals, different processes but another beginning.

I’m excited to share what I’ve been thinking about, and what I have been creating. And, of course, the stories behind the jewelry.

Maybe, along the way, you and I will have the opportunity to create something meaningful together.

I’m excited to see what stories we’ll build upon together. ❤️
