MagSheath uses high grade rare earth magnets to securely and conveniently secure metallic items to your hip. MagSheath will work with any object that contains an adequate amount of what is called a ferrous metal. This is metal that is attracted to magnets and popular types include steel (including stainless, carbon, tool), irons (cast, wrought), and any other metals containing appreciable amounts
of iron. Common items that are highly likely to work with MagSheath include hammers, nails, screws, axes, knives, pliers, USB drives, some pens, and much more. Some common metals that are non-ferrous, and therefore will not work with MagSheath include aluminium, copper, lead, nickel, tin, titanium and zinc, and alloys such as brass. Precious metals such as gold, silver and platinum. However, if the metal in use is an alloy of any of these and iron, it will still work with MagSheath. For example, if you have a hammer with a titanium handle but an iron head, the head will still be attracted to the magnet and it will still hold.
