The new owner is a writer who has been a NYT best seller. For every book she writes, she buys herself a special piece of jewelry related to the themes she's writing about. This is the piece she's chosen for her latest project which is about the ancient art of wayfinding using stars to navigate. She told me it is part of her process to wear the piece the entire time she writes. Isn't that thoughtful and lovely? My kind of people. I'm so honored that one of my pieces will be with her as she navigates her newest creative endeavor

I've got a bit of a thing for angels, and apparently y'all are starting to notice it in my work. I've heard this comment 5 times over the last 2 weekends in our tent⛺️, and it's been another huge affirmation for me every time. When y'all come into my booth and just "see" things without me saying a word, it's the ultimate artist reward🏅. I'm pretty serious about protective talismans as I make them for a living, and I never leave home without certain guards

The first pic is my own piece loosely inspired by the Seraphim, the second is an illustration I can only attribute to http://pbs.twimg.com but gives an idea of what I'm talking about visually, third is a Kiefer print I purchased at Saint Louis Art Museum during their exhibition of his new work this past winter. Then we have Archangel symbol stones that have a special place in our home, a Medieval painting of Raphael, patron Saint of travelers, which serves as my phone background, and finally a Michael coin that you'll never catch me without when we are out and about. As always, I could talk forever about these inspirations and what they mean to me particularly. But I believe spiritual inspiration and practice is meant to be as sovereign as the individual, and I prefer presenting certain ideas in abstraction as ambiguity leaves room for expansion. I think it's very critical in this life to always be aware of Dog(ma). Be well beautiful friends!

Okay, long one, so bear with me lol. All of last year I had this gnawing feeling that it was time to more fully blend the work I was focused on a over decade ago with Ascendant. Because it's honestly the same work simply a bit repackaged, and I wanted to do a more complete job telling my full story

That said, I cannot express to you all how truly inspired I have been by my own patrons this season. This weekend at the Historic Shaw Art Fair a couple came into my booth and as they were taking in my work, they mentioned that it reminded them of Anselm Kiefer. I immediately struck up a conversation with them because Kiefer is not only my favorite artist of all time, but he even takes up a full chapter of my master's thesis. Needless to say they are both amazing humans, and we could've talked forever about Kiefer's work and recent exhibition, Post-WWII European Neo-Expressionism, artists as material/spiritual/emotional alchemists, Kiefer's energetic tether to this area, my all-time favorite painting, Fuel Rods, which we are so lucky is part of the permanent collection at Saint Louis Art Museum ... I could go on and on, but this is one example of yet another💥boom💥lightening zapp moment for me that just clarifies I'm on my path, doing what I'm meant to do.

I've reread my thesis, Uranium Daughter, a few times this year and had to laugh at how even though my work has evolved over time, I definitely can't help but be me😆. This neighborhood is magical at all times, but dusk at load out brings out the best in it in our opinion, so there's no rush. Thank you for another magical weekend full of friends, collectors, and fun. Chris and I cherish each moment, and we are so grateful to Louisville for a record br3aking year at St. James. If you're familiar with my work, then you probably know that my "Gem Rise" pendant is a flagship design and a staple in my booth. This year I decided to push the classic design further and y'all have been loving them!

These are two of my newest iterations and feature andalusite from Richard Cybulski paired with a berry Umba sapphire from the Umba River valley in Tanzania. The other has a gorgeous Swiss blue topaz that glitters so pretty in the sunshine. The final pic shows the classic version as well as the inspiration behind the design: a full moon over rippling waters. So peaceful and serene

Hard to believe that it's my 5th year at this wonderful show, and I'm here with a ton of new work to show you including Genesis "Light Rift" cuffs with brilliant blue gems and this Big Bang "Star Shield" ring with moody Mozambique garnets.
