A bindi (Hindi: बिंदी, from Sanskrit bindu, meaning "point, drop, dot or small particle") is a red dot worn on the center of the forehead, commonly by Hindu women. The word Bindu dates back to the hymn of creation known as Nasadiya Sukta in Rig Veda Bindu is considered the point at which creation begins and may become unity. It is also described as "the sacred symbol of the cosmos in its unmanifes
ted state". Bindi is a bright dot of red colour applied in the center of the forehead close to the eyebrow worn in South Asia (particularly amongst Hindus in India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal and Sri Lanka) and Southeast Asia among Bali and Javanese Hindus. Bindi in Hinduism, Buddhism and Jainism is associated with Ajna Chakra and Bindu is known as the third eye chakra and is linked to the pineal gland[clarification needed] which may inform a model of its envisioning. Bindu is the point or dot around which the mandala is created, representing the universe. Bindi has historical and cultural presence in the region of Greater India. I have had a love for Bindis for as long as I can remember. I never leave home without a bindi to match my Indian attire. Having learnt Tribal belly dancing in NY/CT, my love for exotic bindis grew even more. Thus the birth of 'Nindi'. I use swarovski crystals and elements to make these one of a kind exotic Bindis. Each one is handcrafted and designed by me. Its pure labor of love. Every Bindi has a name behind it. These bindis as ornate as they look, they are not hard to put on. You would need Bindi glue, spirit glue or eye lash glue to use and these can be re used over and over again if stored carefully. And to take it out, peel gently and use baby oil to take off any glue residue from your forehead. Olive oil on a cotton ball works even better. I do take custom orders so feel free to message me if you have something particular in mind. And most importantly, I work hard on these Nindis so please try not to BARGAIN with me on my charges. I keep the cost of a Nindi very low. Along with the cost of the materials, It also includes my time away from my children, making these cute puppies, so you all can enjoy wearing it. And lastly, please don't copy my designs. Thank you!
