A Double Shell Brooch in the form of a Butterfly

Each Shell mounted with an old mine Diamond and between the Shells is the Gold body of the Butterfly.

On the reverse is a substantial twelve strap Gold brooch mount and I am told that the Shells are called NeoTrigonia and are scarce enough to be prized as gifts for lovers. In fact it must have been quite expensive to make this Brooch with so much Gold and two Diamonds.
