For the women of Manos Amorosas, the Bera Bag begins with what others throw away. Aluminum soda can tabs are gathered, cleaned, and woven together by hand through a technique passed between women artisans over time.

Years ago, the idea began simply by noticing the tabs accumulating. What looked like waste became possibility. With patience and imagination, they transformed it into something durable, intricate, and full of intention.

Each Bera Bag carries hundreds of these recycled pieces, woven slowly by hand.

This episode of Object & Alchemist traces the origin of that idea, and honors the women of Manos Amorosas whose creativity and craftsmanship shape every piece.
