One of the biggest trends this fall is western style fringe styled in an understate way that is chic and not costumey. Here I paired the Fringe Trim Faux Leather Snap Jacket with the elegant Satin Strapless Bow Back Top and matching Satin Relaxed Straight Leg Pant. Then I layered on necklaces by local jeweler Bella Colletta and added the Rue Vegan Top Handle Bag (comes in 3 colors) and the Alofi Boot. This look is super comfortable and effortlessly chic. Styling the new Bandana Print Washed Denim Pants & the Yeehaw Striped Denim Jacket, part 2.

This version is a bit more sophisticated and focuses around this oversized white button down from Sister Jane. Everyone needs a crisp white button down shirt in their closet and this one will take your style up a notch. Just look at the gold birds that embellish the button flap - so chic. I also love the extra long tails and cuffs, which make it ideal for layering. It’s definitely oversized (I am wearing a small), and that’s part of its charm.

A little bit about my buying strategy….

I’m interested in bringing you pieces that you will wear year after year and while I often buy into trends, I do the legwork to identify the trends that have staying power. I gravitate towards pieces that are unique and interesting, which is why we are often asked if the pieces are vintage - You aren’t seeing them everywhere. If everyone is wearing it, it will get worn out. Just like the top 10 songs on the radio.

The dress and jacket I am wearing in these photos are best sellers from last year. Despite being worn again and again, I still want to wear them and I am still getting so many compliments when I do. That’s when I know I got it right.

This week we have more fall jackets, western inspired pieces, show stopping dresses and colorful necklaces and bracelets dropping. I hope you love them as much as I do!

A moment for this stunning dress and the exquisite design of the Andaz Lisbon. This striking hotel features an interior concept designed by renowned architect and designer Patricia Urquiola alongside Mörschel Arquitectos. They blended the historic building’s heritage and Portuguese cultural elements with a retro-modern aesthetic and achieved something really beautiful. It’s rare to find a hotel that encapsulates the warmth, vibrance and history of its location. I was truly inspired by the design, right down to the sultry burgundy shower tiles. I can confidently say you won’t regret buying this dress, nor staying at this hotel.

A fairytale dress for a fairytale place.

I highly recommend you add a day in Sintra to your Lisbon itinerary. It’s a magical place awash with palaces and splendid gardens and it’s only a 40 minute drive from Lisbon. We started at Pena Palace, which served as a monastery before King Ferdinand II turned it into the summer retreat for the royal family.

Tip: Get tickets for the 9:30 showing, right when it opens, to beat the crowds and don’t go on Sunday when it’s free for all citizens of Portugal. If you’d like to stay in Sintra, I highly recommend the Penha Longa Resort.

Dress, sunnies and jewels are all available now and the dress has pockets and adjustable straps. It’s a great sightseeing dress, lightweight and breathable.
