One of sculptor Naomi Sarna’s favorite places to acquire gemstones to sculpt is Madagascar. During a trip to the gem rich island nation, Sarna discovered an intriguing Dendritic Quartz with an especially vibrant inner life enriched with flecks of iron and manganese. As she hand-carved the gem, the flecks appeared to gather like storm clouds before a late afternoon shower, while the curves of the sculpture appear to flow like rain.
