A natural stone can appear very different at each stage of its journey.
In its raw form, turquoise has an uneven surface, natural matrix, and earthy texture. After cutting and polishing, its color, pattern, and smooth finish become more visible. Once set into a handmade silver ring, the stone becomes part of a completely individual design.
Polishing does not automatically mean that a stone has been treated. Treatments may include processes such as dyeing, stabilization, filling, heating, or coating. A treated stone can still be natural, but clear information about the treatment is important.
Every turquoise stone has its own matrix, tone, shape, and natural characteristics. This is why no two handmade rings look exactly the same.
