Now that this giraffe has been delivered to its new home, I can share the final pics! 🦒
This project took a lot of time (not including my fear-of-failure-induced-procrastination). 😮💨 Somewhere between 40-50 hours between armature, base body buildup, and final work. BUT! It’s finished!
I managed to get the base and armature done on my own but ended up following a pattern from Fuzzie Fiber Art for the coloring and finishing touches! So thankful she made a pattern!! You can find it on her Etsy page if you’re thinking of trying one yourself! Thank you, Fuzzie! 💜
It’s somewhere between 14-16” tall (yes I forgot to measure so I’m guessing but it’s tall, y’all!) and has actual giraffe tail hair (ethically sourced) in the tail! Did you know their tail hair feels like nylon guitar strings? It’s so strange!
I learned a LOT from this sculpt. And I don’t think I’ll be making anymore anytime soon though. 😂 Maybe when I have another forty hours. 😂
Working on it helped me mentally and it feels so good to finish something. Thanks for reading and following. Have a lovely Sunday! 💜
