I offer a variety of handcrafted, artisan jewelry. The jewelry is created by hand from sheet metal and wire using basic tools like hammers, saws, pliers and a torch. Inspiration comes from nature such as trees, flowers, the sky and ocean, animals, and classic symbols like hearts and spirals. Each piece is infused with the joy and happiness of observing and capturing nature's beauty and magic. I li

ve in Medford, NJ with my husband, children, cats and dog. I love where I live with all of its lakes, natural preserves and hiking trails and that it’s only a quick drive away from the ocean! Living in this area of NJ provides me with plenty of inspiration for my designs. Each design is made by hand by me from start to finish. Often a design will start as a simple sketch on paper. This means that no design is ever mass-produced and will be the only one of its kind. Unlike jewelry that is made by machines and computers, Sleepy Cat Jewelry is something special. Here’s a great gift set for the woman who loves dragonflies, a brooch that can be worn as a pendant and a pair of earrings with labradorite.
Dragonflies symbolize transformation and can bring good luck according to many traditions and can bring joy and good tidings. I think it’s fascinating that they’ve been on this planet for over 300 million years and I love that they eat mosquitoes. They live on every continent except for Antartica. Their iridescent colors always catch my eye when I see them in my yard.

Look at how Rebecca wore her Sleepy Cat Jewelry heart brooch with pink opal and turquoise! She put it on the strap of her bag on a recent vacation which was such a clever idea. I only think of putting a brooch on a sweater, jacket, or, maybe, a scarf but this opens up even more options.
Many of the brooches I make also function as pendants.

The bigger pieces definitely get shown on my page but sometimes I forget to share the smaller designs too! These sterling silver cat head post earrings are definitely on the smaller side, just measuring 1/3 of an inch high and wide. They are great for everyday wear and the hammered texture gives them a unique look. You can find them in my shop in the cat theme section. I will add the direct link in comments.

Life has taken a crazy turn again so I haven’t been able to work on item descriptions like I’d planned. However, I did make a start tonight so I can show you what I have in mind.

Let’s take the first bracelet I have in that section, the 3 copper spirals bracelet. The second photo shows the original description. The third shows my more concise write up and how I plan on writing for all the items listed. Hopefully this makes getting the info you need to make a purchasing decision just a little easier. Note that I still included a lot of my original description, I just moved it closer to the bottom. I’ve gotta be me!

One more note about this bracelet. If you are hesitating to buy this because it has a hook closure instead of a lobster clasp I have copper-plated brass lobster hooks that I can easily switch in, in place of the hook. Just let me know if you’d prefer that change.

Sleepycatjewelry.com is getting an update! I’ve changed the look of it just a little bit and I plan on doing some editing on the item descriptions. I have a tendency to be a little wordy and I’m going to try to reduce that somewhat.

But, as I’m working, I’ve put 25 items on sale including these four designs that would be great accessories for summer! No discount code is needed. I marked them down already. Happy ! I decided to photograph Cheddar’s paws and toe beans in the necklace photo because it’s Caturday. 🐈

Anyway, I’m showing you what I did with a necklace I made myself two years ago. I originally wore the necklace on it’s own so I was ok with the chain being a shorter length. However, today, I want to wear it layered with a smaller pendant above.
So, I added some wirewrapped links to the back to extend the length of the chain.

I’m sharing this because, one, I want you to know I can do this for your Sleepy Cat Jewelry necklaces too, and two, I like to show how versatile handcrafted jewelry can be. It’s easy to add or remove length to my designs because I’ve been involved in their creation from start to finish; I know all their secrets!

Earrings are almost ready for their debut. Until then, here are some pictures of sun and ocean or just sunny days at the ocean that I’ve taken over the years. These inspired me to pair citrine, aquamarine and golden sheen sapphire together (last photo). Most of these pictures were taken in Ocean City, NJ (including a couple sunrise shots) but a couple are from our family trip to Northern California back in 2023.

I’m hoping I’ll have the earrings ready to show you tomorrow. They are fabulous!

Happy Friday! I found Philadelphia Fleabane growing in front of our woodpile and thought it was so pretty. I love the random wildflowers that pop up here and there in our yard.

I won't be at in Verona this weekend but I'll be missing all of you and looking forward to when I return to shows. Until then, my website has plenty of options for you to choose from with free shipping.

Happy Mother's Day! I’ve been dabbling a little in watercolor and made a card to give my mom when I see her later today. We took a trip to Ocean City together a couple of years ago and, obviously, looked so cool in our oversized sunglasses, lol. Third photo was a trip from a few weeks ago, to visit my kids at the college they both attend. It was so much fun having lunch together and exploring the campus. And, of course, gotta wish a happy Mother's Day to my cat Onyx, momma to Pluto and Raven.
