I was so sad when she walked away.

But maybe not for the reason you thinkā€¦

A customer visited my booth repeatedly one day at a show, each time looking longingly at the ā€œReefā€ necklace.

She touched it carefully, lightly.

Her daughterā€™s body language said everythinnng about her desire just to see her mom delighted. šŸ„¹

But in the end, the mom didnā€™t purchase the necklace. She said she had nowhere to wear it.

My heart ached to hear her discount the potential in her life that way.

If I could talk with her again, Iā€™d encourage her to cultivate special occasions, not simply await them.

And if you find yourself deferring delight too, let this be your reminder to see the everyday moments of life as fertile fields for cultivating richer, deeper experiences. šŸŒ±

Some words of encouragement, whether youā€™re facing internal resistance (from low self-confidence, for example) or external (from, say, circumstances or other people). Growth can feel uncomfortable, even painful. But sometimes thatā€™s how you know itā€™s working. šŸ’–
