Verdant Reverie- Carved Labradorite, Kyanite, and Chrysoprase Gemstone Statement Necklace

At its center is a large carved labradorite, its leafy design appearing and disappearing beneath flashes of blue, green, aqua, orange and gold. I surrounded it with a botanical arrangement of mint and teal kyanites and a beautifully faceted high-grade Australian chrysoprase, building the entire composition around that incredible carved stone.

There is an enormous amount of handwork in this piece. The front was textured by hand, the silver accents and the bail were individually forged, and even the decorative bezel surrounding the labradorite began as a design I drew and pierced out by hand before soldering and shaping it around the stone.

And the back is almost a second piece of artwork. I hand-pierced an intricate botanical design through the silver, creating little peekaboo openings that reveal the colors of the gemstones from behind.

The finished necklace measures approximately 4.5 inches long × 2.5 inches wide and weighs 53 grams. The carved labradorite alone measures approximately 2 × 1 inches.

I named this one Verdant Reverie.

Labradorite & Sterling Silver Succulent Statement Necklace

This is a BIG labradorite statement piece. The elongated stone has an incredible range of color, moving through golden yellow, green, aqua and blue, with all of those natural lines running through the stone beneath the flash.

Above it is a large dimensional succulent cast in solid sterling silver, connected to the stone with hand-forged sterling silver details. The labradorite itself is wrapped in fine silver, while the reverse is finished with a richly embossed bronze back- a warm hidden contrast to all of the silver on the front.

At approximately 4.5 inches long × 1.5 inches wide and 29 grams, this is one of the largest statement necklaces in this collection.

Labradorite & Mixed-Metal Succulent Bouquet Necklace

This labradorite has such a beautiful range of color, shifting from luminous aqua and blue into green and warm gold. The elongated teardrop shape gives all of those colors plenty of room to show, while the smooth surface catches the light differently with every movement.

Below the stone is a tiny botanical bouquet of dimensional sterling silver succulents and hand-forged silver details. The labradorite is wrapped in fine silver, while the reverse is finished with an embossed floral brass back, adding a warm mixed-metal secret detail.

The pendant measures approximately .75 inches wide × 1.75 inches long.

Labradorite & Sterling Silver Succulent Necklace

This pendant is all about keeping the design simple enough to let one spectacular labradorite take center stage. The large teardrop stone flashes through layers of aqua, green, blue and gold as it moves in the light, with all of those natural lines and inclusions still visible beneath the color.

Just below the stone is a single dimensional succulent cast in solid sterling silver, accompanied by small hand-forged silver accents. The labradorite is wrapped in fine silver, and the entire pendant is finished with a brushed solid sterling silver back. The oxidized, hand-finished surface brings out the texture of the succulent and gives the silver a little more depth.

The pendant measures approximately 1 inch wide × 1.75 inches long.

Hand-Fabricated Sterling Fern & Labradorite Earrings

Each earring combines a slender sterling silver fern frond with a faceted blue labradorite, and I love how the intense flashes of electric blue at the bottom contrast with the delicate botanical silverwork above.

Every fern is completely hand fabricated by me. I draw the design onto sterling silver sheet, cut each tiny shape out by hand with my jeweler's saw, then hammer, solder and shape the metal to create the finished frond. It's a very hands-on process, and each fern naturally ends up with its own subtle variations.

The faceted labradorites are wrapped in fine silver, with brushed sterling silver backs, and the earrings are finished with handmade solid sterling silver ear wires.

They measure just under 2.75 inches long and weigh approximately 4 grams each, so despite all that hand-fabricated metalwork, they're a wonderfully lightweight pair.

Labradorite, Carved Lapis & Aqua Kyanite Statement Earrings

There is so much beautiful contrast in these earrings. At the top, dark faceted labradorites flash an intense electric blue. The centers are carved lapis lazuli with raised floral designs, bringing this incredible saturated cobalt blue into the composition, and the earrings finish with delicately faceted aqua kyanite drops.

I especially love the carved lapis in these. Lapis has been used for both jewelry and carved objects for thousands of years, and its extraordinary blue has also historically been ground to create ultramarine pigment. Here, that old-world carved floral pattern feels especially beautiful alongside the much more luminous, shifting colors of the labradorite and kyanite.

The labradorite and lapis gems are wrapped in fine silver bezels, while the unusually cut kyanites are framed in scalloped sterling silver bezels. The pieces are finished with floral-embossed copper backs, joined with hand-forged sterling silver attachments, and suspended from solid sterling silver ear hooks. All three sections are articulated so they can move independently.

They measure approximately 3.25 inches long and weigh about 9.7 grams each.

Faceted Labradorite & Sterling Silver Succulent Earrings

These earrings pair long, beautifully faceted blue labradorites with cascades of dimensional sterling silver succulents. The stones have incredible flashes of electric blue, aqua and green, and I love the contrast between those cool, luminous colors and all of the tiny organic textures in the silver above them.

The succulents are genuine plants cast directly into solid sterling silver, preserving the individual shapes and textures of the original botanicals. The labradorites are wrapped in fine silver bezels with brushed solid sterling silver backs, and hand-forged sterling silver attachments connect the stones to the succulent clusters.

Finished with solid sterling silver ear wires, these measure almost 3 inches long and weigh approximately 7.8 grams each.

Labradorite, Horse Canyon Agate & Aqua Chalcedony Earrings

I love the progression of stones in these. Each earring begins with a faceted labradorite flashing blue and green, moves into a long oval of Horse Canyon agate filled with beautiful mossy, landscape-like inclusions, and finishes with a luminous aqua chalcedony teardrop.

The Horse Canyon agate comes from a California locality known for agates with moss and plume inclusions, which makes those center stones especially interesting.

All three stones are individually wrapped in fine silver and finished with embossed copper backs. Hand-forged sterling silver attachments connect the three articulated sections, allowing each stone to move independently, and the earrings are finished with solid sterling silver ear wires.

They're approximately 3.5 inches long from the top of the ear wire and weigh about 10 grams each.
