Yesterday I released my first original jazz album under .whiteside.music called Nana’s Piano! Check it out if you’re into that kind of thing! And, in the spirit of Hindsight Drums, here’s my rig rundown on the album:

4x14” 1920’s Ludwig & Ludwig 6-lug heavy two-piece nickel-over-brass snare (the “Dance” model, with the soldered bearing edges…her name’s Daisy)

14x20” kick, 16x16” floor tom, 9x13” rack tom, all 1950’s WFL Super-Classics in Black Diamond Pearl: 3-ply Mahogany/Poplar/Mahogany with maple re-rings (my favorite recipe)

13” 1920’s Zildjian first-stamp crash (splash?)
14” 1950’s thin Zildjian small-stamp hi-hats, both around 700g
18” 1950’s Zildjian small-stamp crash/ride, 1519g
19” 1960’s Zildjian block-stamp rivet crash/ride
22” Dream Dark Matter Flat Earth Ride

All that and an upright bass, an heirloom Kimball spinet piano, trombone, tenor sax, alto sax, soprano sax, recorded in what used to be an opera house in the late 1800’s! On all streaming platforms, at www.TommyWhitesideMusic.com
