My bench today looks like chaos. There are scattered shapes, sharp edges, and rough cuts. But beginnings in this art are allowed to be messy. Before the masterpiece, there must first be the fragment.

Every beautiful piece of jewelry has to start right here, in the unformed in-between. The truth is, these metal scraps and loose stones aren't truly 'initial' pieces as they carry a history and a soul from the hands that held them before they reached mine.

Yet, to honor the past and give them a future, they must first be broken down. I cut, melt, and scatter, transforming yesterday's fragments into tomorrow's heirloom.

My love, trust the process, even when it looks like scattered pieces. ✨

I make a pair of earrings for summer every year, and this time I used found sea objects! A piece of tile, a Shiva Eye (natural, hardened "trapdoor" or operculum of the Turban snail, and two pieces of sea glass.
