Yale Cordage is proud to sponsor the upcoming Mastering Professional Rope Splicing Workshop, hosted by Atomic Ropes and Noble Oak Safety & Training!

Taking place October 22–24 in Frenchtown, New Jersey, this three-day, hands-on workshop will give participants the opportunity to expand their knowledge of rope construction, fiber characteristics, splice design, finishing, and inspection.

Led by instructors Peter de Vries and Sean Thompson, attendees will gain practical experience while creating 11 professional-grade slings, lanyards, and friction savers using high-quality rope and rigging hardware. Participants will also take home the equipment they build throughout the workshop.

We're excited to support an event dedicated to advancing rope splicing skills, professional development, and safe rigging practices throughout the industry.

The maritime industry runs on the skill of the people working its waterways. This World Maritime Day, we’re recognizing the mariners whose judgment and hands-on experience keep that work moving.

Yale Cordage is proud to partner with Maritime Throwdown, which puts deckhand skills in the spotlight through training and competition. It’s a chance to celebrate the people behind the work and help the next generation see what a maritime career can offer.

On September 16, arborists and volunteers across the country came together for the annual Saluting Branches Day of Service, donating their time and skills to care for the places dedicated to our nation’s veterans.

This year’s event reached 90 locations nationwide, including national and state veterans cemeteries, veteran memorials, VA hospitals and clinics, and veterans homes. At a participating cemetery in Portland, Oregon, volunteers helped contribute to that nationwide effort through tree care and grounds maintenance.

Yale Cordage was proud to support Saluting Branches with a donation of custom, limited-edition XTC-24 arborist rope. Featuring a bold navy, red, white, and yellow pattern with the same performance as Blue Moon, the rope was supplied to arborists volunteering at sites across the country.

Thank you to Saluting Branches and all of the volunteers who put their skills to work in honor of those who served.

Four years in the field. Still delivering strength.

After four years of service, a used 1-1/2" River Max sample was cycled under load and then pulled to failure at 156,494 lbs—exceeding its 150,000-lb Catalog Spliced Minimum Breaking Strength.

The results reinforce what matters beyond the spec sheet: long-term strength retention and proven field performance.

When choosing the right rigging rope, construction, fiber type, stretch, abrasion resistance, and energy absorption can all affect how a rope performs in the field.

Our latest editorial takes a closer look at our rigging ropes, specifically XTC-12, Portland Braid, Double Esterlon, and Polydyne, to break down what sets each apart and where their different performance characteristics come into play.

Yale Cordage recently donated a reel of rope to Boy Scout Troop 177 in Washburn, Maine.

The troop uses rope for everything from practicing knots and whipping rope ends to building rope bridges across the stream at their camp. It also comes in handy for hand guides along rough sections of trail, rigging systems to move objects, and even the occasional tree swing.

We’re glad to help keep Troop 177 supplied with rope they can put to work while learning practical skills outdoors.
