Chantek (chan – teak) means beautiful in Indonesian. The reason we call our business “CHANTEK DESIGNS” is Indonesia is where our business began, to be specific, on the Island of Bali in Indonesia. We started to travel to Bali back in the early 90’s and immediately fell in love with the country, its people, culture and the beautiful art that is created there. I love to shop and would bring home u
nique one of a kind pieces of handcrafted Sterling Silver jewelry. Every time I would wear an item someone would complement me on that piece. Before I knew it I would have a list of jewelry that friends and family wanted me to look for and bring back. One day when shopping (for friends and family) I had that “AHA” moment and told my husband that I could do this as a business, he just grinned and said go for it. Over the years we have formed relationships with a few family-owned Silver factories in Bali. We value the quality and unique style that each factory has to offer and hope you come to appreciate it also. Bali has become a second home to us and are pleased to be able to bring a piece of Bali and her amazing art to you. Since our beginnings in Bali we have added items from Northern Thailand to our collection. With the help of a wonderful Women owned business we now are able to offer beautiful handcrafted MALAS, WRAP BRACELETS, BEADED BRACELETS. Each of these items are crafted by local women (and a few men) in the surrounding village which helps them provide for their families. Recently we were able to go to India for the first time and besides being enchanted with the country the shopping was amazing. You ask what did I find?, well I’ll tell you “BEAUTIFUL JEWELRY”. Soon we will be adding some of these items to our collection. I am always out looking for new amazing treasures to add to our collection, so whenever I’m out and find designers with amazing jewelry that I feel has the quality and uniqueness that people have come to expect from Chantek Designs I will add them to our collection. I have customers from all over the world who put in special request for items and I love the thrill of the hunt.
