It is with a sad heart I write this. RAW ART is nolonger producing Art. Wendy's hands nolonger are able to create and I have put my saws down. I had thought we would transition to a wood shop and begin making other things, but with Covid, and all the unrest in the world, the price of raw materials to build with and my inabilaty to build it, it is not going to happen.
I have aquired many tools to put in the woodshop that I will never use so I will be organizing them and put them up for sale on local yardsale sites to get them out of my way. Table saws, band saws, routers and many many hand tools. not sure when I will start selling, but it will not be long.
We have Loved creating Art for the world and have had a blast doing shows. We will miss making Art, but it is now time to take care of the business of getting old.
Thank you all for the support over the years, we will carry you in our hearts forever.

Richard A. Withrow.

We are thinking of starting a Blog about Life up here on the mountain at Someday!
What do you think?

I am sorry I have not updated this page in awhile. Please know we are not doing any shows this year. My health has not been that great this year and Wendy has damage to both hands and we have not been making any Art since the first of the year. We hope to heal and get back to creating in the future, but given the state of the country and world and our health it may be awhile before we get back in the groove. Know you are Loved! If you need us we are always here.

Good day! been awhile since I posted here. I hope to change that now that we have internet up here on the mountain. In this post I am announcing my retirement from Chainsaw carving. In life the one thing you cannot change is the fact that we all grow old. My family has expressed concern that carving is taking it's toll on my body, my health has not been so great in the last few years and I have slowed down quite a bit. I love to carve and for many years now I have created many many beautiful pieces of chainsaw art, But there comes a time in everyones life that you need to take a step back and reevaluate the course of your life, my time has come. I have several pieces that are in progress, in my wood shed and I will be finishing these pieces over the course of the next few months. This is the end of an error for me but not the end of RAW ART. I am building a shop that will allow me to work indoors in a wood shop and I will still be creating all kinds of new Art. Over the last couple of years Wendy's jewelry creations have increased in sales and she will continue to make more beautiful things in that department. Wendy will be picking up her paint brushes and begin painting on canvas and saw blades. My carving took her away from painting as she has been helping me to finish the things I carve. recently she got a commission to paint on a 3ft by 4ft canvas, the picture of a ladies mountain cabin, and the joy on her face as she painted reminded me of how painting fills her heart. My retirement will allow her to do more of this and I look forward to seeing the many ideas she hopes to put on canvas.
I will be in my new wood shop building and creating smaller carvings that do not involve the chainsaw, also I will be creating benches, tables, lamps, bird houses and many more of the ideas that have been brewing in my mind over the years. I love working with wood and will continue to create until they throw dirt on my face. I plan to post more on this page as we transition from Chainsaw carving to our next adventure. We will be doing less shows and spending more time together up here on the mountain creating together and enjoying our time with one another. We look forward to traveling more and visiting our many friends and family throughout this beautiful country. We hope to create a website that will showcase our continued creative outlets. But I hope to use this page to keep you informed as to what we are up to, I plan to post more here and kind of make this our blog.
We have not started to build my workshop but are in the planning stages and are clearing the space where it will be built. We also plan to build a house up here and get out of the mobile home we are living in. This year we have dedicated ourselves to the year of Someday. Our place is called Someday because this is the place where we plan to make all of our someday wishes to come true. As you know we share a Love that most never see in a lifetime and we plan to enjoy our last years together to build on that. So please check back often to see what we are up to. I hope to post as often as I can , but at the same time try not to bore you to death. In the next few days I hope to post pictures of the inventory we have and to continue to add all the new and different things we create. We are excited about the new direction of our business and hope to create far into the future. As always Know you are Loved!

It was a wet Misty day at Jackson Park in Hendersonville, N. C.
But lots of folks came out to play anyway.
Here's a few pics of our booth. I carved 5 Pumpkins, 1 Small Cedar Bear, and started a Black Walnut Raccoon in a Log.
Just as we set up a gust of wind tried to blow our tent away. An old friend and her parents and another nice young man, came to our rescue instantly and helped til we got it staked down. Awesome!!
The rest of the day we met lots of nice people and had a wonderful day.
