Ever heard of the gemstone “Emerald by Day, Ruby by Night?”

This phenomenal gemstone is Alexandrite. Alexandrite is the very rare color-change variety of the mineral chrysoberyl. Originally discovered in Russia’s Ural Mountains in the 1830s, it’s now found in Sri Lanka, East Africa, and Brazil, but fine material is exceptionally rare and valuable (especially if it’s over 1ct!). It’s also one of the birthstones for June!

Here is an Alexandrite ring I can’t get out of my mind. An exceptional 1.58ct Cushion Natural Alexandrite accented with additional Alexandrites and diamonds in Platinum. A truly spectacular ring that is for a wearer of exceptional jewels.

A huge congratulations to two of my dearest friends, C & K, on their engagement! Beneath a sky full of shooting stars in Sedona, K proposed and became part of a moment they will remember forever.

What an honor it has been to witness their love story and to play a small part in this incredible chapter.

When we began designing this ring, every detail was chosen with intention. At the center is a breathtaking Old European Cut diamond, a nod to C’s love of antique jewels (and, yes, a little inspiration from Taylor Swift’s iconic vintage diamond). Together, we designed a timeless three stone design inspired by a ring her mother once wore, honoring both family and the beauty of carrying cherished traditions forward.

The heart shaped side stones symbolize their two hearts becoming one, while the three stone setting represents their past, present, and future together. A ring that celebrates where they have been, the life they are building now, and all the moments still to come.

Beyond its extraordinary beauty, this is the kind of jewel I love creating most. One that holds meaning. One that tells a story. One that will be cherished for generations to come.
