This is an interesting pendant to say the least. It is a Hurricane Lamp casing that houses a glass tube...the glass tube is filled with Australian opal that has a unique purple, blue, and green sparkle and flash of colors. I am not sure what else to say about it except this is a wonderful example of Australian opal.

We might be entertaining to sell this Australian Coober Pedy opalized shell fossil platt or a plate...how ever you spell that.

We have a this sandstone with opalized shell fossils. This is from the Australian Coober Pedy mining area.

It is quite interesting coming from a legitimate opal source...but they date back to a variety of periods, including the Early Cretaceous, late Jurassic, and Cambrian. The shells are fossils of crustaceans that lived in the water and were probably trapped in the soft mud as it dried.
