From the store displays, October is time for skulls! I actually love skulls year-round, but more ocean. King penguin skulls! 🤩 this is actually one of my favorite necklaces, hand carved from photos (and available in brass or gold)
Skulls aren’t spooky, they’re bones 🦴the enduring part of what’s left. Sadly sharks don’t have skeletons, they just have jaws that sometimes calcify. otherwise you know I already would’ve carved a shark skeleton 😂

Watching rough tooth dolphins and humpbacks not just “getting along” but actively engaging each other in play made such a deep impact on me. It looks like happiness. And grace. Swimming effortlessly, following and imitating each other, and I guess interacting just for the pure joy of it all.
This is why we fight for their protection, and why we need to sign every petition possible, write every letter you can to stop the repeal of laws protecting their habitat and well-being.
They feel better than us. We can barely get along with people who don’t look like us, we smirk when someone looks “funny” or likes a different kind of person than we do. When you’re a small human in the middle of a vast ocean, watching massive creatures playing with much smaller ones, petty prejudices feel ridiculous and trivial.
My only regret from is that I couldn’t swim nearly fast enough to join in and play with them🤩

Just some random thoughts from the shows I’ve been doing this year.
Anything to add? Tell me below!
(And huge huge thanks to Janelle Mazen Orth and Lara Cordeiro for their help with the last one!!)

But first of all, all of you lovely people need to stop calling yourselves fat! People come in different shapes and sizes, don’t buy into anyone telling you you’re less than because of a finger size. I will always be happy to accommodate different sizes whether they be small or big. There are no caveats to this, you are perfect the way you are. 😍

💯🤣 the only caveat is - sometimes it’s lunch or dinner. Not a complaint, just 😆

Obviously, not everyone but enough that it is a thing. How many of you think it’s strange that a woman could make jewelry and be an underwater photographer? 🤦🏻‍♀️ hello 1950s! (Let’s not even get started on the website. There are so many highly accomplished non-male programmers that that one’s ridiculous)

I mean I know we like the ocean but this kind of wave is different. 🤣 how is it possible that all of you would coincide so completely multiple times? I mean the more the merrier but sometimes spreading it out would be good too! ;)

99% of you are lovely. That tiny little one percent though, does it hurt to smile? And oh yeah, please don’t throw the jewelry. I spent hours on that!

Finally connected to Wi-Fi, some more images from our unforgettable time with the humpbacks 🥰 watching whales interact and gaining a small glimpse into how they relate to each other was so special. And seeing them as mammals that play like we do is very humbling💙💙 we will never get enough of these beautiful giants!
