After Zeus defeated the Titans to become ruler of the cosmos, he cried tears of joy falling to earth, turning into colorful Opals. Pompeii Miniatures Collection: 22k Dove on Emerald column beads. Hand carving this piece was intensely peaceful and quite special. Offered as the first of an exclusive limited selection of our Pompeii Miniatures Doves. The dove was the sacred bird of Venus. A symbol of love, passion and fertility. Emeralds were dedicated to the goddess Venus, symbolizing growth and rebirth. The stone was believed to reveal hidden truths, even Pliny the Elder found it to be soothing to the eye. Pompeii was quite a wealthy town, when excavated amongst the many fascinating scenes and treasures, the history frozen in time, were jewels and jewelry containing Emeralds.
