Oh hey! It’s been a minute! This past year has been full of change for us- getting engaged and moving to Northern California to name a few things!! 😍😍 We’ve been busy with life but with a new house, we have an excuse for more DIY projects.
We have been redecorating our guest bedroom and needed a new dresser. Acquired this solid wood piece and tried a new technique using Easy Off to remove the old varnish. It worked.. kind of, but still had to do an hour or two of sanding to achieve this rustic look. Added a single coat of Poly for protection and voilà! This will not be in a high traffic area so one coat did the job but kept that exposed wood feel.
Oh and how beautiful are the new handles?? I was truly nervous how this would turn out but I love it!
🖤 $65.00 on FB marketplace for dresser and matching mirror
🖤 Used EasyOff to remove varnish, then hand sanded remaining varnish.
🖤 One coat of Poly, lightly sanded.
🖤 New hardware purchased on Amazon for about ~$30.
🖤🖤 Total project cost using leftover supplies: $100.00!
Tell us what you think! Slide for the befores!! PS we will be updating the matching mirror as well, but with it on top you can really see the difference this update made!
