Allow me to introduce you to our feisty rooster, Oscar. Yes, as in “Oscar the Grouch”. 🤣
He’s actually pretty sweet when he is in charge of his own flock, so we gave him that opportunity. He does not get along with the kings of our main flock, ChiChi & Yaki. He tried to assert dominance on day one of being with us. That was an unforgivable mistake according to the kings. He was relentless, so he got separated. Reintroduction attempts have not gone well as the 2 kings aren’t letting go of their grudge regarding his rude behavior. 🤣
He’s now living a happy life with Cocoa and Turtle in their own coop. He may be a grouch, but he sure is handsome! And he really does well as long as he’s not in with Yaki & ChiChi.

It’s time to introduce y’all to our queens, Ophelia and Amelia! Ophelia has been the broodiest of broody hens. 🤣
She was the first one to hatch and mommy a slew of babies in our flock. All of the young hens and roos in this flock were under her care.
Amelia was the mommy to care for our next group of babies, most of which were sold at our recent market. We kept 2 of her babies and they will be shown soon.

Meet our sweet Dinosaur🦕!!!
He is yet another one of our young roos. (Yes, we have a bunch in ChiChi’s group, but they all get along very well). This guy has some of the most beautiful coloring! And peep those beautiful blue lobes!

This is an add on to my last post that was introducing ET. Go check it out if you haven’t seen it yet. There’s a little more explanation about what you’re seeing here.
I’ve attached a couple of videos of when ET started walking again during his treatment and recovery time. (There’s more in the comments) He had already come a long way at this point, but was still struggling a lot. You’d never know it now, except for his little bit of scruffiness around his left eye that we thought he was going to lose.

Oh, my sweet ET. 🥰💕💕💕💕💕
He is the best! ET has a very special place in our hearts. We almost lost him when he was about a month old. We still do not know what exactly was wrong, but have our suspicions. He suddenly couldn’t stand or walk, would barely eat, was sneezing a lot, his eye was all matted and swollen shut, and was simply lifeless. He was absolutely pitiful. We brought him inside and set him up comfortably isolated from the others in a warm crate. He was nursed literally around the clock getting his VetRX treatments 5 times a day, making sure he was drinking his chicken vitamins & electrolytes water, and getting lots of chicken physical therapy 😂. We were preparing ourselves for the worst because all signs pointed to that. It was really bad. But after about a week of treatment and TLC, he began to make a turn around and eventually recovered fully in a couple of weeks or so. Because of that time of closeness to us, he responds to us so much differently than the other chickens, even now and he’s been better for over 5 months! He comes to his name and will run out of the flock, bolting towards us when he sees and hears us. He’s so sweet and snuggly. And also spunky! He’s our tough little fighter, but he doesn’t fight his friends….just stupid sicknesses. Because he’s a good boy. 😜

Meet another of our young roosters. This is our very handsome boy, Marshmallow. He stood out to me immediately when he first hatched with the rest of his brothers & sisters. He’s a such a sweet boy and I love him! ❤️

We have another precious couple in our flock. These are our Partridge Silkies, Coco and his lady Turtle.
Just like Clementine (our buff hen), Turtle is broody as well. She’s currently sitting on 4 eggs, so we will hopefully have a few baby partridge silkies hatching soon. These silkies sure are good little mamas.
