👑💛 PAVILION COMPLETE… TIME TO CUT THE CROWN! 💎✨

This 33 ct golden tourmaline rough has been transformed one facet at a time, and the pavilion is officially finished! Now it's time to transfer this beauty and begin cutting the crown. 🔥

But this cut came with an unexpected challenge! 👀 During faceting, a colorless crystal inclusion resurfaced in the stone.

I could potentially cut it away, but doing so would dramatically reduce the finished stone's weight. Instead of starting over with a smaller stone and sacrificing a significant amount of material, I'm leaning toward sacrificing just one facet to preserve as much of this golden beauty as possible.

That's part of the art of lapidary: balancing clarity, symmetry, carat weight, and the original design. Sometimes the best decision isn't to remove every imperfection, but to work with the stone and make the most of what nature gave us. 💎

The pavilion is polished, the transfer is next, and it's finally time to give this golden tourmaline its crown! 👑✨

This chunky little beauty started out at a whopping 33 carats of rough golden tourmaline, and now the transformation is underway! 😍

I'm carefully cutting away the rough to reveal what's hiding inside, bringing out those gorgeous honey-gold tones one facet at a time. ✨

I have a feeling this one's going to have some serious presence when it's finished. ❤️ Sometimes you just have to let a gemstone keep a little extra weight and give it that bold, chunky look!

The goal? A beautifully cut golden tourmaline with plenty of personality. 🔥
