✨ Coach Spotlight: Montana Grabowsky ✨

ERFSC Summer School is lucky enough to call Montana Grabowsky one of our own! 💙 Known for her bubbly, positive personality, Montana brings energy and encouragement to every session while also holding skaters accountable to help them reach their goals.

A full-time coach with 10 years of experience, Montana coaches at Merrill Ice Reflections FSC, Eagle River FSC, and Timberline FSC. She is a 6-time US Figure Skating Gold Medalist, with achievements in Skating Skills, International Ice Dance, U.S. & Canadian Gold Dance, Gold Free Dance, Gold Solo Free Dance, and Adult Gold Singles.

Montana is also a proud UW–Stevens Point graduate with degrees in Marketing and Management and a Coaching Certificate. Beyond the ice, she mentors junior coaches and helps shape the next generation of leaders in our skating community.

Her passion, positivity, and dedication make a lasting impact, and we are so grateful to have her as part of the ERFSC family! ❤️⛸️ @

✨ What a fantastic first week of ERFSC Summer School! ✨ From new skills and big breakthroughs to lots of laughs and memories with friends & coaches, Week 1 was packed with learning, fun, and goals achieved! ⛸️💙

We wrapped up the week with a successful test session and have some exciting accomplishments to celebrate!

🎉 Congratulations to Bristol on passing her Swing Dance and Hickory Hoedown tests!

🌟 A huge shoutout to Hannah for passing her very first U.S. Figure Skating test, Pre-Preliminary Skating Skills! What an exciting milestone!

We are so proud of all of our skaters and can’t wait to see what Week 2 brings.💙⛸️

🎉 Coach Spotlight: Ian Lorello 🎉

We’re excited to welcome Ian Lorello back to ERFSC Summer School! After joining us last summer, Ian quickly became a favorite, and we’re thrilled he’s returning.

Ian represented Team USA internationally for over a decade as an elite ice dancer, earning top finishes at U.S. Championships, ISU Grand Prix events, and international competitions. Since retiring from competition, he has performed professionally with Disney On Ice, become a PSA-rated choreographer, and built a reputation as an outstanding coach and creative force in the skating world.

Today, Ian and his wife Laura own and operate The Next Ice Age Academy, the nation’s only dedicated artistic skating school. Whether he’s coaching, choreographing, or inspiring skaters to think outside the box, Ian brings a unique blend of elite-level experience, creativity, and passion to the ice.

We can’t wait to have Ian back in Eagle River this summer! ⛸️✨

🌟 Coach Spotlight: The Next Generation! 🌟

At ERFSC Summer School, we’re passionate about helping skaters achieve their goals and helping future coaches grow along the way! Today we’re excited to highlight two rising stars on our coaching staff: Sadie Jones and Meredith McCormack.

These young coaches have quickly become favorites among our youngest skaters thanks to their energy, enthusiasm, and positive approach to teaching.

⛸️ Sadie Jones is a two-time USFS Gold Medalist and a 2026 graduate of Rhinelander High School. With 14 years of skating experience and 4 years of coaching, she loves helping skaters build strong fundamentals in jumps, spins, skating skills, and choreography.

⛸️ Meredith McCormack, a Northland Pines alum, skates with the University of Minnesota Intercollegiate Team and the American Ice Theater. A 3-time USFS Gold Medalist and certified choreographer, Meredith brings a wealth of experience in freestyle, dance, choreography, and skating skills.

We’re so proud to support Sadie and Meredith as they begin what promises to be outstanding coaching careers. Be sure to say hello when you see them at camp! 💙

ERFSC Summer School is thrilled to welcome back one of our very own, Grace Schreiber! 💙⛸️

To know Grace is to love her. Her positive energy, encouraging coaching style, and genuine passion for skating make her a favorite among skaters of all ages. We’re especially lucky to have her helping coach the ERFSC High School Team!

A USFSA Triple Gold Medalist in Skating Skills, Singles, and Partnered Ice Dance, Grace brings over 23 years of skating experience and 13 years of coaching experience to the ice. She has competed and medaled at Upper Great Lakes Regionals, skated collegiately for Winona State University, and now coaches in both Winona, MN and Eagle River, WI.

It’s rare to catch Grace without a smile on her face and a kind word to share. She’s not only an incredible coach but also a positive role model on and off the ice. We’re so excited to have her back this summer! ☀️⛸️

⭐️Coach Highlight: Helen Fearnley⭐️

We can’t feature Jake without highlighting what some might call his “better half!” 🤣

Helen Fearnley has built a loyal following thanks to her incredible coaching skills, positive energy, and ability to help skaters reach their goals. With a strong dance background, she’s also known for creating beautiful, memorable choreography.

A former International and National competitor for Team Great Britain in Ice Dance alongside Jake Fearnley, Helen brings over 20 years of skating experience and 12+ years of coaching expertise. She is a Triple Gold Medalist in Skating Skills, Ice Dance, and Singles, and has guided skaters from their very first steps on the ice all the way to National-level competition and Gold Medal achievements.

Get ready to skate with one of our most popular camp coaches! Jake Fearnley is a fan-favorite dance partner coach known for his fun personality, quick wit, puffy green jacket and ability to keep skaters smiling while learning.

Originally from Great Britain and now coaching in the Chicago area, Jake is a 2-time British National Champion who represented Great Britain in ISU Junior Grand Prix and other international competitions.

Whether you’re taking your first steps in ice dance or working toward Gold Medal tests and beyond, Jake brings the expertise to help you reach your goals. He’s coached skaters from beginners all the way to sectional and national competitors and always makes the journey fun!

🌟 Coach Spotlight: Brittyni Carlson 🌟

A longtime favorite at ERFSC Summer School, Brittyni brings the perfect mix of fun, energy, and “get-it-done” coaching that skaters love!

With 21 years of coaching experience and 5 years as a professional performer, Brittyni has an impressive background that includes coaching at Shattuck-St. Mary’s, leading the University of Minnesota Intercollegiate Figure Skating Team, and guest coaching with the American Ice Theatre. She also toured Europe with Holiday on Ice and trained internationally in both the Netherlands and Australia.

Beyond the rink, Brittyni is a certified personal trainer, aerial arts instructor, and professional lyra performer—bringing a unique perspective to skating, strength, and artistry.

We love 💕 seeing our skaters achievements recognized 👏!!

Northland Pines sophomore Charlotte Frenz has become the newest U.S. Figure Skating Gold Medalist at the Eagle River Figure Skating Club (ERFSC)—a prestigious milestone achieved by only about three percent of all figure skaters nationwide. Marking the club's first gold medal in 15 years, Frenz mastered eight progressively difficult testing levels to earn the honor in the skating skills discipline.
