Viking History in Norway ⚔️🇳🇴

Stand at the center of Haraldshaugen, and this is what looks back at you. 🛡️

This monument in Haugesund was raised in 1872 to mark 1,000 years since King Harald Fairhair united Norway. Beyond it runs the Karmsund strait, the old “Nordvegen,” the sailing route north that gave Norway its name. Legend places Harald’s grave in this very spot.
