Antique gold has become one of Ornamental Things’ signature finishes. Here are a few reasons why. ✨
How is antique gold achieved?
It starts with a 24-karat gold plating. Then, a black lacquer is applied over the top and wiped away, leaving darker color in the recessed areas and a warm, gold finish on the surface.
It adds depth and dimension.
The contrast between the darkened recesses and the warm gold surface gives each design more depth, helping the details stand out without looking too polished or new.
It looks like vintage jewelry.
This may be the biggest reason I love it. Antique gold has the softened, time-worn character of pieces I've discovered in my grandmother’s jewelry box or at flea markets.
It suits the designs.
So many Ornamental Things pieces are inspired by vintage jewelry, old objects, symbolism and decorative details. Antique gold just feels at home on them.
It plays well with others.
Antique gold looks beautiful alongside shiny gold, silver, gemstones and all the other jewelry you’ve collected over time. Everything doesn’t have to match.
Vintage soul. Modern wearability. ✨
