❄️ Coastal Weather Alert: Heavy Snow Incoming ❄️
As winter weather moves in, DEC is reminding boat owners to keep an eye on snow loads and make sure bilge pumps are working properly. A little prevention now can keep your vessel from meeting a SAD (Sunk At Dock) ending.

Why it matters: If a vessel sinks, the owner is responsible for any fuel spills or other pollution that may occur. Staying ahead of snow and water buildup protects your boat and Alaska’s waters.

⚠️ Report Spills Immediately
Alaska law requires all oil and hazardous substances to water to be reported to DEC right away.
