For 2025-2026, we are closed and on a creative pause. Named after her granddaughter, Shirley Elliott started Shelby’s with her husband, Roger, at the Laguna Village Art Studios on a cliff overlooking the Pacific Ocean. She designed and created a beautiful foot jewelry she called a “Shoewel™.” They soon added Toe Rings (became famous for them!), anklets, and other handcrafted jewelry. After a very short period, Shirley and Roger moved their little enterprise into a small Laguna Village Art studio and added sized, custom fitted toe rings. Roger became “The Toe Ring Man.” Then – when one became available - they moved into a larger studio. Our wonderful Toe Ring Angel, Roger, passed away in 2002. Shirley continued operating the store with family and friends. The summer of 2020, after the passing of our founder and mom, Shirley, and then ongoing Covid-19 mitigation closures, we decided to stay together as a family and moved to Arizona.
