As someone who never observed Lent before, I’ve decided to actively participate this year. Why? Not to ensure saving, not to be legalistic, but because I simply need Jesus, like a lot. Taking this time to do a form of daily fasting, prayer and meditation on God’s word and boy do I feel holy spirit-filled already. It’s so easy to get tempted and distracted by what is of this world. I don’t like it. Social media certainly doesn’t help. But here I am, doing a social media post that I hope will inspire you to open your bible. We are all sinners who need our Savior.

People do not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God. MATTHEW 4:4
