Today was a day for custom pickups at the shop… including these three one-of-a-kinds from my May group of custom projects. All three here were crafted for Di - a local client who has an awesome gem collection and a desire to do something unique with them. 💛 I’m totally honored that Di entrusted me with her gems. The concepts we developed together: an everyday diamond necklace with little asymmetrical diamond accents on the chain, a badass diamond cigar band 🔥, and a sweet everyday half round ring featuring a rare blue gem called hauynite (in the sweetest heart shape!). Each piece was a complete pleasure to craft, and Di left the shop smiling from ear to ear. Mission accomplished. 😏

There was another top-secret pickup today. 🤫 More to come on that later!

This month we moved for the second time in less than a year. 😅 It brought extreme exhaustion and relief all at once. Adam and I are now residents of Georgetown. I feel a sense of permanence and connection to the community where I’ve planted roots for my business. We downsized into a condo - which was a very freeing process and I’m now just a short walk from my shop.

This month was intense in many ways. In the midst of moving, I had a very busy month with custom pieces. More to come on those later… I also managed to squeak out a few other newbies for in my cases, including this diamond stunner in the first slide here (shown with a stacker on the top and bottom). AND I went to see the baby elephant at the National Zoo🐘 among other happenings…

I’m welcoming June with big wide open arms. Also, I’m stoked Adam and I can walk to the movies!🍿

Thoughts from an artisan jeweler… I first made a pair like this back in the fall, not long after opening my Georgetown Showroom & Atelier. They were part of my first small batch series completed here in Georgetown. They were also the first to sell from that series! A few months later… a long time local client said she wanted a pair - so I recreated the design for her.
Yesterday she came and picked them up, and she was so happy. 🥹 She told me that she planned to wear them presenting at an upcoming conference - and that made ME so happy. As she walked out the door, I said something to the effect of, “Wear them as your super power!” or “May they bring you lots of confidence while you’re up there!” —- It really is true that I don’t have much time to make things just for me to wear. I hope that one day that will change. In the meantime, adorning my clients with pieces that make them feel good about themselves is all I need! 🫶🏼✨

April showers bring May flowers… fresh my Georgetown Atelier, NEW floret studs. Born from the request of several clients, I now have two larger options, in addition to the Minis. The larger pair at 1/2” offer a bit more presence on your ear, and the medium size, a bit more sparkle with the addition of diamonds.

From my bench to ✈️ Plettenberg Bay, South Africa… this year on my birthday (too funny!), JJ & Ash tied the knot! I’ll never forget the day they came into my Georgetown shop, fresh off their bikes with helmets in tow. We had only recently opened the storefront, and they were hoping to find something artisan made for their special day. So touched they loved my work. 🥹Such a sweet, lovely couple. I’m so happy for them! Their wedding day in South Africa - how dreamy?! ✨❤️

I met my client Megan a few years ago at a show in Philly… she saw a large pair of one-of-a-kind emerald statement earrings I’d made - and immediately thought she’d like something sorta like them for her wedding. Her wedding day seemed so distant then, but we remained in contact and brainstormed what could be her very own special pair of emerald statement studs. We landed on this design. They look gorgeous on her. What a beautiful bride and how honored am I to have played a small part in making the day as beautiful as it was. 🥰 Megan was married this past spring, and I’m so happy for her.

I’ve been quiet, but I’ve had monumental things happening. In addition to opening the new storefront, Adam and I found the perfect place in DC and have decided to relocate sooner than later, in order to be closer to my shop. 7 minutes! A game changer.

Also, I JUST received my Certificate of Occupancy, which means I can OPEN soon!

I will be open for appointments only for the first few weeks. I will ease into regular store hours in September. Stay tuned for store hours and the date we plan to officially open our doors!

At the moment, I’m still waiting on my jewelry cases... and a few finishing touches. Wish me luck as I wrap things up!
