The only remembrance of him that I have is a rosary made from the roses at his funeral. Although I never met him, it was always special to me to have this keepsake of the man I heard so much about. I have always felt some connection to him because my life began just at the time his ended. When my mother died, I wanted the same kind of keepsake from the roses at her funeral. I finally found that St. Joseph's Convent in Campbellsport made these rosaries and I had one made. It will forever be a special item for me to remember my mother. Since that time, the convent has closed, and I have not found another person or location nearby that makes these special rosaries. I felt the need to carry on this tradition in the area and in my family. I have bought many roses, made many mistakes, and dedicated countless hours to perfecting the bead making process. Now I want to share these special creations with you. I have also decided to expand the idea beyond rosaries, and make other jewelry to encompass other life events and special remembrances. With the additions of other beads and more designs, I hope you can find a style that works for you so you also can cherish a keepsake of a special event or person. Due to the color changes that occur in the making process, I have found that red roses are the ones that create the best final color. At this time, I am only working with red roses, but hopefully with more time and experimentation, I will perfect other colors as well.
