AGS Conclave Moment 💎

The big screen highlighted all of the AGS members who earned new titles this year, recognizing the many professionals who reached new levels of achievement—including Kara Huddleston of Huddleston Fine Jewelry Appraisals.

This year, I earned the Advanced Certified Gemologist Appraiser (ACGA) designation, the highest title offered by the American Gem Society. AGS has transitioned the Independent Certified Gemologist Appraiser (ICGA) title to the new ACGA designation—the title I had worked for years to achieve.

This designation reflects years of education, testing, experience, and a continued commitment to professional development in gemology and jewelry appraisal. It’s an honor to see my name among this year’s new titleholders. 💎

AGS Conclave brings together an incredible group of instructors and jewelry professionals for several days of learning, and this year did not disappoint!

A special thank you to GIA (Gemological Institute of America), Mona Miller, Rothschild Trading Company, Lang Antiques | Vintage Engagement Rings + Estate Jewelry for the many hands-on sessions covering topics like fluorescence, treatments, appraisal standards, and jewelry dating. These opportunities to examine gems firsthand and learn from experts are invaluable.

I always come home from Conclave with new knowledge, new connections, and an even greater appreciation for our industry. ✨💎

One yesterday's breakout sessions at Conclave: “Defining Features of the U.S. Jewelry Periods.”

Suzanne and starla turner, from Lang Antiques | Vintage Engagement Rings + Estate Jewelry, were amazing instructors, taking a truly hands-on approach to learning. We examined a variety of jewelry pieces, looking closely at the clues each one provides to help determine its age and period. 🔍✨

There’s nothing quite like having a room full of jewelry professionals examining pieces together, sharing observations, and putting our knowledge to work!

Always learning, always refining, and always bringing that knowledge back to our appraisal work. 💎
