Sampling always feels like a delay at first, but in reality it saves far more time than it costs.

I made these samples to understand how the panels would look once sewn together in the centre, and also to test whether the technique I chose for the second piece would actually work.

I’m really pleased with the bottom sample, while the top one just needs a few adjustments. It also helped me refine the sizing, which is something that would have been much harder to judge without seeing it in physical form.

For me, sampling is definitely a time-saver. Since I create my own patterns, I’m not always sure how an idea will translate from concept to reality. Testing it first allows me to make decisions early, avoid bigger mistakes later, and move forward with much more confidence.

National Stands

National Stands

During the World Lace Festival, participants will have the opportunity to present the lace-making heritage of their country free of charge to an international audience.

Each national stand will be provided with a black exhibition panel measuring 2 x 2 metres, offering a professional space to display works and highlight national traditions.

Participants are also kindly invited to deliver a short presentation (approximately 30 minutes), demonstrating their technique and sharing insights into the history and cultural significance of lace-making in their country.

This is a unique opportunity to promote your national heritage, exchange knowledge, and contribute to an inspiring international event.
