This year has been a weird one full of new frontiers that have kept me from creating new collections. In fact, this commission represents some of the only original work I've produced all year.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It happens to be one of my favorite annual projects because it symbolizes all the best reasons why you wear jewelry.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
These rings are a sentimental reflection and celebration of the unique 20-year friendship these ladies share.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Originally forged in the workplace, these ladies have become a dynamo team together outside work, and their success together has flourished for many years now.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The first commission was three custom necklaces for them to wear at their company’s big yearly gala. Each necklace was to be a little bit different since they would all be wearing them together for the big event.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The result was so successful and made the evening so memorable that we have continued the tradition every year since.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This was the first year we decided to do rings and the first project that required silversmithing and bench work.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Let's just say that it felt good to finally be at the bench again creating in the physical world. 💙💍✨

I was asked to send over a full-page ad tease for a retrospective, article this summer in Artcover Magazine. The feature is to be a lifestyle narrative highlighting my career as an artist.

💎 The endless exploration of creativity
💎 No repetitive production work
💎 Every design is an exciting journey
💎 A chance to reinvent with every collection
💎 The playfulness of creating original pieces of art
💎 I can make my designs as outrageous and involved as I want

Sure it's not scalable or the industry standard of building a jewelry brand but making jewelry on my terms is one of the biggest ways I measure success.

I love jewelry but more than that I love fashion.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Whether it’s a fashion show, collaborating with other designers, or doing an editorial shoot with my favorite photographers, there are always good vibes.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
fashion is about feeling good, then fashion’s job is to give you confidence.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Don’t believe me? Just watch any runway show during Fashion Week. Try strutting like that without it
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
So, I guess I’m more in the business of making you feel good

than simply selling jewelry.

Speaking of fashion these pieces were designed for the runway and have been featured in two fashion show productions and photoshoots.

Alright, busted. It's true, I watched Silence of the Lambs very recently and that line in the movie made me think of it with this post copy.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
But I digress. Pearls' organic nature makes them prone to drying out with the possibility of cracking.

Easily avoid this by wearing them often!

April is Earth Month so I'm gonna come right out and say it, it’s not the end of the world if you don’t have a capsule collection of jewelry.

You can love variety without ruining the planet.

Here are some ways to indulge guilt-free, so you can enjoy some new fun variety that’s sustainable as well.

🌍 - Always try to buy from local handmade makers who don’t manufacture their designs. The environmental impact from production factories can be devastating.
🌎 - Ensure that the jewelry you buy is made of recycled metals with ethically sourced stones—hint, hint, mine is.
🌏 - Make sure you support small independent designers over big brands like Amazon so they can continue to create beautiful, sustainable products that are good for you and the earth.

Now you can indulge, utterly and completely guilt-free of your carbon footprint.

This last weekend I gathered myself and a small entourage and headed to Ephemera where my jewelry would make an appearance.

I don’t get out as much as I’d like, so it felt really good to put on makeup, get dressed up, and flex my horribly atrophied social muscle.

The best part was rocking a brand new piece I had just made and couldn’t wait to test drive it. (might be from some new works in progress 😉)

Something else I don’t do as much as I should, but I’m trying to get better at is doing more of what I love.

Which is why I got back to creating again!
