Happy November! This month is a special one for Quicksilver because it officially marks 10 years since I decided to make the leap and get started in the world of metalsmithing. Since those first few awkward silver rings, so much has changed and grown, and I couldn’t be prouder of what Quicksilver eventually became.
And it’s continuing to change and grow in different ways. I’ve missed being in this space over the last tough year or so, and I have new ideas for how I can hopefully get back to a place where Quicksilver is sustainable and something to look forward to.
But we’ve gotta close this chapter first! I still have some inventory from this year that I’ll be clearing out over the holiday season, so there is currently a shop-wide sale on the website, and you can catch me in person three times over the next few months.
Here’s to 10 years of trying new things and only failing at a few of them, meeting amazing friends, and making cool art. Couldn’t do it without you ♥️

Hello, and welcome to Quicksilver Designs!

My name is Julie, and I opened Quicksilver on Etsy in 2016. I primarily work with electroformed copper, where each ring or necklace has copper formed around the stone through applying an electric current (if you want to learn more about the process, just message me and I'm happy to geek out!). But silversmithing was also my first passion in the jewelry world, so you can expect plenty of new sterling silver pieces in my shop every few months.
