RIVER OF LIFE:
Everyone knows I do like a bit of a challenge...well this interlocking pair of rings has it all. A recycled gold and gem open ring with a Putney River inspired silver wavey ring to fit inside it. I'll hand make the gold ring, then hand carve in wax and cast in silver for the other one.

My client had a beautiful rhodolite garnet which we're polishing slightly more oval so it fits the overall design better. This will go opposite the biggest garnet and diamond.

For the silver ring we're adding a new London Blue Topaz to be flush set along with some smaller diamonds and regular garnets.

Each ring will be wearable on their own too.

We'd been tempted to use the big amethyst from another ring but have agreed to save that and use just the gold. When you are faced with a pile of potential it can be hard to step back and not use everything.

I'll be able to start making this once I have the new shape rhodolite garnet back in a few weeks.

The last slide shows a very rough mock up using whatever rings I had to hand. Sometimes I just need a physical example in front of me to make sure the idea in my head will work. 🧡

REMODEL:
My client wants her platinum solitaire diamond engagement ring remodelled into an 18ct gold trilogy ring.

I've matched her existing 0.50ct natural diamond to create the side stones. Then sourced a gorgeous GIA certified E SI2 1.06ct natural diamond for the centre. I also had some oval diamonds as another option but we all agreed the round worked so much better. A timeless option.

The ring design is inspired by my clients 3 daughters initials, and also the reason for wanting 3 diamonds.

Her platinum diamond wedding ring will also be remade in yellow gold to match, using all the original diamonds.

We'll save what we can of the platinum rings to remodel into something else later on. 🧡

SS DIAMOND ENGAGEMENT RING:
The brief was to use my clients initials 'SS' & an inherited diamond as the only stone. I designed a double S, wrap around, part rub over setting that flowed down to form the top of the ring shank. The result is a super smooth, ribbon effect which looks gorgeous from every angle. A wide band at the back helps to secure the top heavy ring.

Using the 18ct gold from the original inherited engagement ring, adding a bit more gold grain to bring the weight up I made a knife edge wishbone wedding ring to fit against and complement the engagement ring.

This project makes the most of my recycling, remodelling bespoke jewellery service. 🧡

THE SET:
Such a pleasure to hand over this completed engagement and wedding ring set today.

The wedding ring was made from my clients family gold. It's been delicately hand engraved with 30 leaves and buds to mimic the leaves on the back of the white gold engagement ring.

Such a cool pair of rings and never to be repeated. 🧡

HELLO 👋🏻
I'm back from Easter break. I did my best to step away and stop thinking about work but in all honesty it's so much a part of me I can't separate the 2 now. Plus I love it all and genuinely miss it.

FOR ETERNITY;
20 garnets for 20 years of marriage. Hand engraved inside and out for extra sentiment and detail..this handmade ring is entirely unique.

We used a family gold ring and some extra 18ct gold grain to increase the ring depth so the stones could be flush set and not drilled through the ring which would make it impossible to engrave inside.

So pretty in the spring sunlight...it's a keeper 🧡

PURPLE, ROSE & GREEN:
A gorgeous symbiotic cluster of gems to be joined together in a new ring.

An oval sapphire and pear shaped diamonds from my client's own ring, adding in amethysts and alexandrite to represent the birthstones of her children.

To be made in 9ct rose gold. The richness of the stone colours will look even deeper against the gold tone. Rub over settings so there are no sharp edges. A tapered knife edge band to highlight the ends of the pear shaped diamonds and add a bit of drama.

With projects like these I can't wait to get back to my workshop next week...it's hard to fully take a break when you are self employed. I wouldn't have it any other way. 🧡

ETERNITY RING:
An 18ct gold chunky donut profile ring set with 20 different size pink and purple rhodolite garnets to represent 20 years of marriage. 10 engraved stars scattered in-between them. Family names were also hand engraved inside and a sentimental gold ring used along with some additional gold grain to bring the weight up. It is a hugely sentimental ring, loaded with love and meaning.

This ring also now represents the most incredibly patient and understanding clients. Not all projects are straightforward and this was sadly one of those. I should have been sharing it in January but had to completely remake it at the final stage which is a pretty devastating situation to be in on both sides of the workbench.

Bespoke jewellery has its pros and cons. Everything is being made for the first time and sometimes it just doesn't work out even with my most careful planning and attention to detail.

I'm thankful every time when I get to work with the loveliest of people. 🧡

RECYCLE / REMODEL:
My client had a tension set diamond engagement ring which over time had become risky to wear. She wanted a new rub over setting made but to keep the same ring shank and diamond.

For another remodelling project she also gave me a diamond ring to dismantle. The 18ct gold ring shank was just enough to make the new rub over setting. The diamonds have all been allocated to other projects.

Proof that a little can go a long way. 🧡
