Believe it or not I didn’t plan on using this sound when I was filming this when colour testing and finalising printing my new designs… but then when I was editing it my brain instantly went “there” and then I got sad about Tim Curry all over again 😔

I could’ve made this a much quicker reveal and it would’ve performed much better, but whatever, this one’s for the Rocky Horror lovers 💕

I know, I know, we shouldn’t put celebrities on a pedestal and all of that, but this has hit me a bit today because I just think the world needs more goodness and sunshine and now we have a whole bunch less instead 😢

My issue is that I’m approaching painting like I do clay- going in without a plan and playing and seeing what happens. The difference is that I’m really good at clay and things will generally work out great, and that’s not true of painting 😅 so I’m trying a different approach today and actually planning. Brb rearranging my gallery wall so this print can catch some sun because are you kidding me with these colours?!

My partner saw this one as I was printing and complimented it, then was trapped for five minutes while I yapped about how I got the textures and how much I love it and enjoyed making it. I’m looking forward to debuting these at markets so I can keep on yapping to people about it because I’m just so happy that I’m making proper art now 🥹

Four mostly-abstract-but-a-bit-inspired-by-flowers-to-different-degrees art prints are on my website now, in this beautiful textured matte paper, in A4 and A5 sizes. More designs both similar and veeeery different are coming very soon!

When I decided I loved this artwork > when I decided this artwork was ready to print and be sold.

My process with printing involves a lot of test proofs, staring at them from near and far, and deciding what needs to be added and omitted. So much texture is built up, colours adjusted and flourishes included at this stage.

My photography degree really drove home that what’s on the screen and what comes from the printer are two toootally different things! This is why I wanted to do my own prints from home, I just absolutely need to do it myself to ensure the final result is what I’m happy to put forward to the world as my work. In a lovely moment of happenstance, my Nana offered a bit of money to each of her grandkids right as I was preparing for this shift in my brand- and the sum covered the printer and my first round of paper 🥹 isn’t it funny how things work out like that sometimes!

Anyway, I thought you’d maybe like this little insight into my world, and I wanted to share the artwork that’s been the most popular so far 🥰 TYSM to the people who have supported my new endeavour so far, I appreciate it more than I can say!

I’ve been enjoying this trend and listening to the asmr-y real life sounds of people’s lives, but then this arvo filled with jackhammers, very loud music and constant screaming happened and I wanted to join in in a subversive way 😅

P.S. don’t come at me for being outside during this, they share an internal wall and are demolishing inside, so inside is worse! And since my knee dislocation I can’t walk my dog and just take him out to work, so I’m stuck at home.

P.P.S. I actually don’t begrudge them their construction I promise 💕 I’m dying to see who they rent it out to, I’m hoping it’s a fellow young family who’ll play boardgames with us and come over for Sunday arvo beers 🤞🤞🤞

P.P.P.S. (Last one I swear) everyone should invest in noise cancelling headphones, days like this they’ll save your sanity. I held out for too long because they felt like an indulgence but it’s more like a necessity for people with sensory issues 🙂‍↕️
